I specialise in the modelling, analysis and visualisation of environmental data, particularly in the context of GHG inventory compilation.

James Sammut, Consultant

James has experience in greenhouse gas inventory compilation, data analysis, modelling, and reporting. He has a background in environmental economics, gained through academic study and performing climate policy support work in Malta. He also has proficiency with R programming and statistical analysis, owing to postgraduate study of statistics and its application to various data analysis projects at Aether. His knowledge of data visualisation and report writing is evidenced by his authorship of national reports such as Malta’s 2021 and 2022 National Inventory Reports, together with various Aether project reports.

Projects include:
Leading the development of a new tier 3 methodology for estimating emissions from aviation in the Icelandic inventory.
Contributing to the analysis of inequalities in air quality by levels of deprivation, ethnicity and diaspora community in London, through data analysis and visualisation, across regions and over time.
Contributing to the modelling of the particulate emissions of a fleet of trains at every 10 metre interval of a journey in order to map air quality impacts and think about mitigation measures.

Outside of work, James enjoys travelling, live music, swimming and hiking.
