Laurence is a consultant with expertise in Transparency systems under the Paris Agreement, industrial emissions reporting and greenhouse gas inventory development. Laurence has supported countries around the world to develop their institutional arrangements and data management systems that facilitate transparency on climate action and support. He has developed online data management platforms for climate change data to help countries build an evidence base for informed decision making and respond to international reporting requirements. Laurence also has extensive knowledge of European industrial emissions reporting and is currently leading the initiative to revise industrial emissions reporting across the EU.
Laurence has a range of technical and project management experience that includes contributing to Biennial Update Reports (BUR), developing proposals to be submitted to the Global Environment Fund (GEF) under the Capacity Building Initiative for Enhanced Transparency (CBIT). Laurence is also the task manager for the European Topic Centre project to revise industrial emissions reporting with the European Environment Agency.
Laurence received a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Birmingham and has previous experience at a world-leading research institute through an internship at the Birmingham Institute of Forest Research. Outside of work, Laurence enjoys travelling, squash and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
