Luke has expertise in national and local inventory development, QA/QC, and reporting, and has gained first-hand experience in national inventory compilation. He builds tools and models by combining complex datasets to develop more spatially-resolved inventories to support air quality management and identify appropriate mitigation strategies. He has focussed recently on developing methodologies, and building tools to quantify emissions from the rail sector to a high spatial and temporal resolution, whilst also leading on the annual compilation and publication of emissions inventories for the Devolved Administrations (for both air pollutants and GHGs).
Luke’s projects have also included:
- Analysis of policies and measures as reported to the EU by Member States to reduce air pollutant emissions
- Building models to quantify of emissions from shipping in Singapore, using detailed vessel traffic logs
- Providing capacity building services to inventory teams in St Lucia and Iceland.
Outside of work, Luke is a keen musician, runner, and whittler, and can be found swimming in the nearest river or lake at all times of year.
