Mike leads Aether’s land development division as a principal sustainability advisor, bringing extensive experience in sustainability across the built environment. He possesses in-depth knowledge of national building regulations and the planning system.
Specialising in multi-criteria environmental assessment and sustainable building practices, Mike focuses on building physics, ‘fabric first’ design, thermal comfort, and low-carbon/renewable energy technologies. He is also trained in Passivhaus design and consultancy.
With expertise in the decarbonisation of large and complex estates and campuses, including heritage assets, Mike has developed greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and net-zero pathways for a wide range of public and private sector clients.
Driven by a passion for finding sustainable solutions to the challenges posed by land development, Mike is currently expanding Aether’s capabilities in whole life cycle carbon assessment.
Outside of work, Mike is a keen musician and outdoor enthusiast, enjoying travel, rock climbing, and surfing whenever possible.
