Aether Recruiting: Graduate Environmental Consultant/Dispersion Modeller

Aether is a growing consultancy specialising in air quality and greenhouse gas emission inventories, local air quality management and air quality assessments. We are looking for a graduate to fill a dispersion modelling position, complemented by air emissions project work. The position is located in the centre of Oxford.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be highly numerate, attentive to detail, and be able to present their work transparently. The main focus of the role will involve undertaking air quality assessments for varied residential, commercial and industrial development schemes as required for the local planning authority to discharge planning conditions. The successful applicant will also contribute to a wide-ranging project portfolio across Aether, as well as business development tasks.
The work will require comprehensive data processing, desk based research, and use of appropriate modelling software to undertake the core work programme.
Required Skills:
•Applicants should have a good degree in a relevant Scientific subject, and preferably a Masters in the environmental technical area;
•Excellent numerical and data handling skills within MS Excel are essential as well as good organisational skills;
•An understanding of air pollution and greenhouse gases is expected.
Preferred Skills:
•An understanding of UK & London air quality policy and Local Air Quality Management;
•Experience of using GIS (e.g. ArcGIS) and dispersion modelling software (e.g. ADMS, AERMOD).
This position provides the opportunity to develop an understanding of UK air quality planning legislation and a core skillset in air quality assessment. As the successful candidate progresses, it is expected that there will be increasing opportunities to diversify within our work for customers in Governments and international organisations on high level policy support and policy formation, as well as research work.
