Aether have had a major role in the winning consortium for a large EU contract to review Member States Greenhouse Gas emissions inventories in 2012. This review will help to determine the baselines for agreeing targets under the Effort Sharing Decision.

2010 Ireland inventory

Aether have won another contract to help the Irish EPA compile their national emissions inventory (Aether provided technical support to the EPA to help with the emissions inventory last year). Emma Salisbury will be based in Monaghan, working with the EPA inventory team.

Chris Dore has been making numerous trips to Turkey to establish a national emissions inventory for the National Emissions Ceilings Directive. Chris explained that there is a lot of investment being made in Turkey at the moment, as they try to bring their systems up to scratch for their application to join the EU.

At the beginning of June, Chris Dore and Emma Salisbury helped to run a workshop on PM0.1 emissions for the European Commission. There is an ever increased focus on the finer end of the PM spectrum, and the EC want to better understand the emissions arising from industrial activities.
