Industrial

Industrial screening, H1 and dispersion modelling assessments can be required for many types of installations, including:

  • Power generating facilities
  • Heat generation using for example, communal gas fired boilers, biomass boilers or CHP
  • Waste incinerators and crematoria
  • Individual industrial units

Assessments are often required to ensure that the proposed flue heights are enough to prevent any significant impact on local residents’ exposure and to ensure compliance with the 1993 Clean Air Act.

Qualitative or quantitative assessments can be undertaken, depending on the Local Authority’s requirements. For the latter, detailed dispersion modelling will be carried out, with ADMS or AERMOD used as appropriate.
