Recent examples of air quality assessments include both indoor and outdoor air quality assessment for the redevelopment of a commercial building at St George Street, Mayfair, London. The building was constructed in the mid-2000s but is now in need of investment and refurbishment works to rejuvenate the building and meet contemporary occupier requirements, in particular in relation to wellbeing and sustainability.  A high level analysis of air quality constraints was provided during design stage. The ADMS-Roads dispersion model was used to determine the impact of emissions from road on future site occupiers and predicted concentrations were compared with the air quality objectives. The site was deemed suitable for the propose development without the need for additional mitigation. The proposed development is not expected to generate significant air pollutant emissions, however, to further reduce the impacts of traffic associated with the development cycle parking and a travel plan is being provided to further encourage trips by sustainable and healthy active means. The development is registered to pursue certification through the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) and WELL Building Standard. In collaboration with our associates, an Indoor air quality plan has been prepared and an indoor air quality monitoring programme will be carried out prior to occupation.

Another example includes an air quality assessment and air quality positive statement in support of a full planning application and listed building consent for the re-use, redevelopment and extension two buildings to create a single office building (Use Class E) in South Bank, Southwark.

Aether also prepared an Air Quality Dust Management Plan (AQDMP) for a scheme comprises of the redevelopment of a site in North Acton to provide a single storey basement, storey building comprising 350 residential units and ancillary facilities including landscaped public realm.
